Utopian Dystopias

Utopian Dystopias is a visual narration by artist and designer Samer Fouad that aims to address society’s flaws through cathartic imagery. Using photography and digital collage, Fouad explores dystopian
environments counterbalanced by seemingly utopian landscapes
defined by post-WWII brutalist architecture. Upon closer examination,
the simplistic grid systems reveal only the illusion of a sound
architectural structure––perfect from afar, but far from perfect.
A direct parallel to the glorification of western liberal democracy,
corrupted by corporate rule and government oppression.
